Providence College is committed to maintaining an environment in which all students, staff and faculty are treated with dignity and respect, as created in the image and likeness of God.  Sexual misconduct in all forms violates the sanctity of the human body, mind, and spirit and will not be tolerated within our community.  Indeed, sexual misconduct (including sexual assault/rape) is one of the most serious violations of the standards of conduct for Providence College, and some forms of sexual misconduct can violate both civil and criminal law.

The College encourages anyone who has information regarding a possible incident to report it to the Office of Safety and Security or a Title IX Coordinator, as well as to local law enforcement.  Generally, employees must report such information.  Complaints against employees shall be investigated and resolved via the grievance procedures outlined in the College’s Anti-Harassment Policy.

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 states:

“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.”
