Supervisors
Below you will find quick instructions for the most asked about items supervisors need to do in the Career Website when hiring student workers.
Supervisor - Creating a user name and password
- Create User Account (left hand side)
- Answer questions, click approve and then continue
- Wait for email confirmation before logging back in
Supervisor - Posting a NEW job
- Create Requisition/Posting (left hand side)
- Click on From Template
- Under Position Title scroll down to Scratch Template (student) or Scratch Template (Graduate Assistant) depending on the population you are hiring for, then click Search
- Click Create
- Answer all questions
- The 4 digit job title code is your departments four digit org #
- The 2 digit job title code is listed within the Pay Rate & Wage Scale form
- Click here for Pay Rate & Wage Scale information
- Click on Continue to Next Page
- Click Add a Question, if desired, to add specific questions to your posting
- Continue to Next Page
- Choose submit Posting to Financial Aid for Review
- Click Continue
- Click Confirm
Supervisor - Reposting an EXISTING job
- Log into https://careers.providence.edu/hr
- Click From Previous (under Requisitions/Postings, Create Requisition/Postings)
- Under Position Title select the position title you want from the scroll bar
- Example - Office of Financial Aid – Office Assistant
- Click Search
- Click Create
- Update posting information
- Example – posting date, pay rate
- Click Continue to Next Page (three separate times)
- Click Submit Posting to Financial Aid for Review
- Click Continue
- Click Confirm
Supervisor - How to change a hiring status
- Log into https://careers.providence.edu/hr
- Go to Requisitions/Postings and click on Active Postings
- Enter username and password and click on Login
- You will see your job posting (department name and position title)
- Click on view underneath
- Under Applicant Tab you will see student applicant names
- Within each column there is a status tab for each student
- Click on Change Status for each student who applied for the position
- To do several changes at a time - check the box “All/None” row for each applicant that you wish to change and then click the button labeled Change Multiple Applicant Statuses
- Update
- Click on Continue to confirm page
- Click on Save status changes
- The Office of Financial Aid will change the status of the student to “Hired” once the student has submitted all required paperwork
