The William D. Ford Federal Direct Stafford Loan, Federal Perkins Loan and the Federal Direct Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) programs are dually administered by the Office of Financial Aid and the Student Loan Office. Throughout the academic year it is possible to receive information and communication from either office about these loan programs.
Typically, the Office of Financial Aid will determine and notify you of your eligibility for these programs each year you file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). For PLUS, however, you must also complete on an annual basis our institutional loan pre-application worksheet in order for your credit eligibility to be determined by the U.S. Department of Education. The Student Loan Office will notify you and track any requirements you must complete in order to properly activate these loans.
More information on these loan programs can also be found in the links below or by visiting the Student Loan Office's website. Also, information about the William D Ford Federal Direct and Perkins Loan programs are available in a Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) format.
