Summer 2013 Campus Construction

Please note that a number of construction projects will be taking place on campus this summer. As excited as we are for the future and the new facilities these projects will bring, we also realize that the construction will impact our campus visitors during the coming months.
We look forward to welcoming you to campus this summer, but ask for your patience and understanding regarding the construction projects. While all of our campus visit programs will be offered as in previous summers, we anticipate that the campus construction will impact you in these three ways:

1. Campus Entry and Parking: Please enter campus via the Huxley Avenue Gate. If you are using a GPS or online map program, enter the following address to reach the Huxley Gate:

212 Huxley Avenue
Providence, RI 02908

When you arrive on campus, a member of our Safety and Security staff will direct you to the nearest available parking to the Office of Admission or your Group Information Session location. However, some visitor parking is currently unavailable due to the construction, so please allow for some extra time before your scheduled visit in the event that you are directed to more distant parking. (Handicapped parking is available adjacent to Harkins Hall and the Office of Admission).

2. Campus Tour Detours: Despite the construction, campus tours will visit all scheduled stops to help you to receive a complete picture of the Providence College experience. Construction projects will require some detours to our normal tour route, which may involve a few additional steps and more stairs than our typical visit experience. Please bear with our tour guides as they help you to navigate around the construction fences and make sure that you still receive a full tour experience.

3. General Construction Noise:  As much as possible, our tour guides will refrain from addressing the tour group in areas with significant construction noise, and will gather the tour group in quieter (indoor) spots to be sure that all visitors are able to hear the information they are sharing.

Thank you for your interest in Providence College. If you have any questions about your visit or any of our construction projects, please call the Office of Admission at (401) 865-2535 or (800) 721-6444. We look forward to welcoming you to campus soon!
