SCE Students and Faculty Celebrate
the Start of the New School Year
On Sunday, September 16, more than 85 SCE students, faculty, family members and friends ushered in the new school year with make-your-own sundaes, pizza, and children’s activities. It was a lovely, late summer day, enhanced by a wonderful jazz quartet made up of Dr. Christopher T. Kelton, Assistant Professor of Music at PC; Michael Kregler, a Special Lecturer in the Music Department; and two undergraduate students, are Michael-Benjamin Minotti and Niall Sullivan. The group played all our favorite standards and enhanced the ambience of the afternoon.
A special attraction for children – and for a few adults – was face-painting provided by SCE student Mercedes Hernandez. There were also lots of games for children. The highlight of the afternoon was a raffle with several prizes, including a Makita power tool kit, an overnight stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott in West Greenwich, and four tickets to a PC men’s ice hockey game.
This event was organized by SCE’s Academic Advisor, Jennifer Andrews, along with a very capable student committee and Associate Dean Madeleine Metzler. If you are interested in helping to plan future SCE events, please contact Jennifer at firstname.lastname@example.org.
