Senior Ring Weekend

Ringing in a New Tradition

Class of 2015,

At last the chance has come to celebrate our traditional Ring Weekend.  This is a Providence College tradition that began in 1917, when Providence College was exclusively a male institution.  Since this time, the celebration has evolved into an integral part of our college experience at P.C. However, the class of 2015 Ring Weekend has a particularly new 'ring' to it as, for the very first time, it will be called SRW  or "Senior Ring Weekend".  Our class has chosen to proudly embrace a new tradition by celebrating Ring Weekend during the fall of our Senior year. This decision has been made in response to the especially high number of students that have chosen to study abroad during their junior year.  This choice truly represents how much our class values any opportunity to gather together, and form life long memories as a class.  It is for this reason that our rings and their original designs will add a significantly symbolic element to this celebration.  It is a tradition that each year a new ring is designed to represent the specific milestones of the graduating class. Additionally, the rings contain symbols that reflect the classes before us, adding a deeper connection to the P.C. legacy.  The Class of 2015 ring will be unveiled for the very first time at our October Ring Premiere, and again during our February Premiere, thus granting all members of our class the opportunity to "Ring in a New Tradition".  Our Ring Core has diligently arranged a spectacular series of events for you to celebrate SRW September 27th-29th, 2014.  The core has arranged for you to enjoy a Special Events Night, a Formal Night, and a very special Mass, Blessing, and Dedication Ceremony. As we come together in prayer and celebration, we hope that you will join your class in an experience that will create life long memories.
