Parking Regulations
Resident Student Parking
Parking and operating a motor vehicle on the Providence College campus is a privilege, and constitutes acceptance by the individual of the responsibility to ensure that his or her vehicle is neither parked, nor operated in violation of any of the Providence College regulations.
A parking permit allows a student to park on campus, but does not guarantee a parking space. Parking permits must be affixed to the inside of the driver’s side window. Students with resident parking permits may park in any of the reserved resident student parking lots.
Directions:
Raymond Lot: Enter & exit through the Huxley Avenue Control Station
Davis Lot : Enter & exit through the Eaton Street Control Station
Rear of Dore Hall: Enter & exit through the Eaton Street Control Station
Rear of Fennell Hall Lot : Enter & exit through the Eaton Street Control Station
Temporary Overnight Guest Parking Permit Policy
Any guests of students wishing to park their vehicle on Providence College campus must obtain authorization from the Office of Safety and Security.
To obtain a pass, the Providence College student must accompany their guest to the Security Office. A Providence College ID and their guest’s license must be shown for identification. The vehicle will be logged in and assigned to a parking location. A weekend over night permit will be valid Friday and Saturday night and will expire at 12:00 midnight on Sunday.
The PC student is to accept full responsibility for the actions of their guest.
Faculty/Staff Parking
Faculty/staff will be assigned to parking areas indicated on the hanging tag issued. Purple hanging tags are to park in East Campus Lots, Accinno Lot, and middle faculty/staff lot. Green hanging tags are to park around Harkins and Phillips Memorial Library. The Peterson Garage is available for everyone. Simply send an email request to ccsulliv@providence.edu to receive access through your Providence College ID card.
All motor vehicles intended to be operated or parked on campus must be registered with the Office of Safety and Security by completing the proper registration form. All applicants for a campus parking and operating permit must present a valid Providence College ID card, driver’s license, state registration certificate, and proof of liability insurance required by the state in which the vehicle is registered. (Hanging tags must be displayed on the rearview mirror facing out.)
Faculty/Staff Parking Prohibitions
Parking is prohibited in the following areas:
All no parking zones, loading zones, driveways, grass areas, etc.
Reserved lots/spaces not assigned to you, including St. Thomas Aquinas Priory Lot.
All paved or unpaved areas of campus that are not clearly marked as parking lots.
Handicapped zones without proper permit.
Parking on campus without displaying a proper pass.
Part-time Parking
Part-time and temporary employees must come to the Office of Safety & Security Office to receive a temporary pass to be placed on their rearview mirror. Designated parking will be assigned upon application.
Commuter Parking

A parking permit allows a student to park on campus but does not guarantee a parking space. Parking permits must be affixed to the inside of the driver’s side window. Commuter students may park in: Wardlaw Lot and/or the back lot of Schneider Arena.
Directions:
Schneider Arena Lot : Enter & exit through the Huxley Avenue Control Station.
Wardlaw Lot: From the River Avenue Control Station drive north on River Avenue, turn at your first right onto Wardlaw, turn left onto Cumberland Street, and turn left into the Wardlaw Lot.
School of Continuing Education and Graduate Parking
School of Continuing Education, students and faculty, Grad Assistants, or Graduate students and faculty, who are interested in registering their cars to obtain a parking permit are able to do so starting August 1, 2012.
Click on https://armsweb.providence.edu/parking/Login.aspx register, campus permits will be valid for the duration of the 2012-2013 academic school year. (Effective September 1, 2012 - August 31, 2013.) The permit allows students and faculty to have access to designated parking areas, however, the availability of parking is not guaranteed. Students and faculty may have to park off campus on streets which offer available parking. To register, you must be on campus using a computer lab computer. The address that students provide for the registration will be the address the parking permit is sent to.
YOU MAY NOT PICK UP YOUR PERMIT ON CAMPUS; IT MUST BE MAILED TO YOU.
Parking permit stickers are to be placed on the driver’s side of the front windshield and may not be transferred to another vehicle.
If a grad student, grad assistant, or School of Continuing Education student or faculty member returns to the campus with a different vehicle or new windshield, the old sticker must be removed in order to receive a new sticker.
Faculty, Graduate students, Grad assistants and School of Continuing Education students have access to park in the following assigned parking lots and structures at the designated times listed below.

The SCE/Graduate School permits does not allow students to park in any of the resident lots. These are Davis, Dore, Fennell, and Raymond Lots. Graduate Assistants are allowed to park in ONLY the Peterson Underground Garage. To receive access to the Peterson Garage, students much contact Carol C. Sullivan, to have their PC card activated. ccsulliv@providence.edu
*Directions:
Peterson Parking Garage: From the River Avenue Control Station drive north on River Avenue, turn at your first right onto Wardlaw Avenue. Turn left onto Cumberland Street. Turn right into the last entrance of the Alumni Lot and straight into the garage. The gate arms to the Peterson Garage automatically advance to the up-right position at 3:30 PM. Monday through Friday.
Vehicles Prohibited
Motorcycles, motorbikes, and similar motor vehicles may not be operated or parked on the interior of campus at any time. Such vehicles must be parked in the designated area of Parking Lot R at the Huxley Control Station. Snowmobiles, skateboards, and rollerblades are prohibited.
Drivers of vehicles at Providence College are responsible for familiarizing themselves with and understanding all motor vehicle and traffic regulations as established by the Office of Safety & Security.
Any student who observes a vehicle parked in a reserved resident/commuter student parking lot without a valid parking permit should notify the Office of Safety & Security.
