Off-Campus Students

ext4_069.JPGStudents who live off  campus are required to follow the city of Providence's guidelines for recycling. All landlords should provide tenants with the correct containers in order to recycle properly.

Landlords can purchase additional totes from the Department of Public Works at 700 Allens Ave, Providence RI 02905.  If you have questions for them please call them at (401) 467-7950 or visit their website at Department of Public Works

GREEN totes that were once used for trash are now to be used for mixed recyclables. That is, glass containers, paper, cardboard, plastic containers, cartons, metal cans, and foil may now be recycled together in green totes. For a complete listing of accepted items as described on the "Recycle Together RI" website, click here.

GRAY totes are to be used for trash only. These totes are the newest addition to Providence's recycling efforts, as they are smaller in size than the green recycling totes. Please note that these new gray totes are not for recyclables, but rather for trash only.

If you have ANY questions, please contact the Recycling Program and we will help you with what you need!  Call us at (401) 865-1881 or email recycle@providence.edu
