Club Sports
Golf
The Providence College Club Golf Team is a former varsity program that was given club sport status in 2002. The team still competes in tournaments against NCAA Division 1 teams, as well match play against other colleges/universities in the New England area. The team practices on weekday afternoons at Metacomet Country Club and Cranston Country Club.

- The Providence College Golf team traveled to the Thistle Golf
Club to take place in the Thistle Southern Invitational vs. St. Anselms
College on March 4-5.
The Friars trailed St. Anselms after the first day of match play 5pts-
2pts. Providence stormed back on day number two winning 6 out of a
possible 7 pts to defeat the Hawks by a final score of 8-6 . Sophomore
Bernie Nangle won the last hole of the last match to seal the victory. Listed

Invitational at the Triggs Memorial Golf Course on Saturday March 30th. Mike Pierard (Rumford,RI.) won the overall
individual title with a score of 77. The
Friars fielded two teams and finished in 3rd and 4th
place
Portsmouth,RI. – The Golf Team finished 10th
at the Rhody Invitational
Yarmouth,MA.- Providence
sent a team to the NCCGA Regional Qualifier where they finished 2nd. They were led by Justin Roscigno (Long Valley,NJ.)
and Eric Lizzul(E.Williston,NY.)
Middletown,RI.
- The Friars finished 9th at
the New England Div 1 Championship
Newport, RI.- Berni Nangle (Lowell,MA.) made a hole in one
on the 8th hole at the historic Newport Country Club during a team
outing
Cranston, RI.
- Providence
finished in 14th place at the Wildcat Invitational.
Rumford, RI.
– The Friars beat Johnson &Wales in a team match at the Prisco-Boulet
Shootout and finished 3rd overall.
Mike Pierard finished T6 individually with a score of 78.
