Neil Romans
Associate Professor
Summary Biography
Dr. Romans is currently working on two research projects. One involves capital punishment; among those who were executed or are currently awaiting execution, how many appealed their conviction? How long did the appeal process last? How long did the condemned wait on death row? In addition, he is also conducting research about competitiveness in congressional elections from 1946 to the present, focusing on how many incumbents seek reelection, and how many times they were reelected.
Among his favorite movies are Citizen Kane, All Quiet on the Western Front and Dr. Strangelove. Dr. Romans has also been a proud season ticket holder for Providence College men's hockey for more than 20 years, and he enjoys following college hockey and basketball.
