Summary Biography
  Dr. William E. Hudson is the department's specialist in public policy. He earned his Ph.D. from Brown University after completing undergraduate work at Indiana University, and has taught at Providence College since 1974.
  In addition to teaching courses in the Political Science department, the Public Administration program, the Development of Western Civilization program, and the Liberal Arts Honors program, Professor Hudson is the director of the Public Administration program. The Public Administration program is a special certificate program developed to assist students who are contemplating a career in government service.
  Dr. Hudson is the author of American Democracy in Peril: Eight Challenges to America's Future (link), which is now in its fourth edition, and, with Richard Battistoni, Experiencing Citizenship: Concepts and Models for Service Learning in Political Science. His publications on public policy have appeared in a variety of political science journals, including Political Science Quarterly, Polity, Western Political Quarterly, and Policy Studies Journal.
