Orientation

The New Student Orientation Program is designed to both acquaint students with Providence College and to welcome them to their new community. Our Orientation Program is broken into three parts (all are required for new students entering the college each fall):

In June, all first-year students currently residing in the United States are invited to campus for an Advising and Registration Day, during which they will meet with a faculty member and register for courses, learn more about the many resources available on campus, and begin building connections with peers. A Parent Orientation program will also be held during these one-day sessions. Please note: Transfer and international students will be invited to campus for similar one-day programs in August.

In late August, all new students will return to campus for two weekends of Fall Orientation programming (before and after the first week of classes). During Fall Orientation, they will have an opportunity to reconnect with students in their major, participate in the Common Reading Program, attend seminars and interest sessions, and learn about the vast resources and involvement opportunities available to them on-campus. There will also be fun social opportunities provided throughout the program.

During the fall and spring semesters of their first year on campus, new students will also participate in various Extended Orientation activities with their Orientation groups or residence hall floors.
