Providence, R.I.--Providence College: Black and White, an original documentary film that spotlights the relationship between the civil rights movement in America and men’s basketball at Providence College, will premiere on Cox Sports on Thursday, December 1, at 9:30 p.m. EST.

A regional sports network, Cox Sports produced the film, which will air on Cox channel 3 and 1003 in HD. It also will be available On DEMAND.

Providence College: Black and White focuses on the College’s pioneering role in integrating athletics as it paralleled the civil rights movement. The film relates how the Friars had black student-athletes on the basketball team as far back as the early 1930s and highlights the careers of such prominent black athletes as Lenny Wilkens ’60 and John Thompson ’64.
