Women’s Cross Country Team Claims 2nd in NCAA Championship
Providence College’s women’s cross country team, coached by Ray Treacy ’82, placed second in a field of 31 teams in the NCAA Division I Championship on November 17 in Louisville, Ky.
The Friars’ finish was their finest since winning the NCAA Championship in 1995. They have placed in the top five three times and have 18 top-10 finishes nationally under Treacy.
Sarah Mary Collins ’16 (Basel, Switzerland) led the way for PC by placing tenth in a time of 19:50.7. Collins, Emily Sisson ’14 (Chesterfield, Mo.), and Laura Nagel ’14 (Napier, New Zealand) all placed in the top 40 to earn All-America honors.
