Full House Comedian to Entertain at Alumni & Family Weekend
Providence, R.I. -- Comedian Dave Coulier, star of ABC-TV’s Full House, will be the featured entertainer during Alumni & Family Weekend on February 10 at Providence College.
Coulier’s performance will take place at 9 p.m. in the Peterson Recreation Center. Doors will open at 8.
Coulier starred on Full House, now part of the Nick-at-Nite and ABC Family network, for eight seasons. His comedy has been featured on The Tonight Show, HBO’s Detroit Comedy Jam, and HBO’s Comedy Relief at Radio City Music Hall.
He also has done voice-overs for many Saturday morning cartoon favorites, including Scooby Doo, the re-syndicated version of The Jetsons, Jim Henson’s The Muppet Babies, and The Real Ghostbusters.
A performer at colleges, corporate events, casinos, nightclubs, and theaters across the country, Coulier resides in Los Angeles, where he also writes and produces television shows and movies.
Alumni & Family Weekend is a new event that will combine the features of the former Homecoming Weekend for alumni with the traditional Winter Family Weekend for parents and upperclass students. It will be celebrated from February 10-12.
The new weekend’s theme is “One Home, One Family.” Sponsored by the offices of Alumni Relations and College Events, it will include entertainment, sporting events, a reception marking the 40th anniversary of women in athletics, the painting of an “interactive” mural, and a keynote talk by Rev. Robert Barron, host of the recent documentary series Catholicism, and Mike Leonard ’70, the show’s executive producer and an NBC news correspondent.
Campus tours, programs on career exploration and study abroad, a concelebrated Mass followed by a Sunday winter brunch, a reception for sophomore families, and an hour with College Chaplain Rev. James Cuddy, O.P. ’98, also will be featured.
