22 New Faculty Members Introduced at PC
Providence, R.I.--Twenty-two new, full-time faculty members--including nine who are tenure-track--have joined Providence College for the 2011-12 academic year.
The new faculty members will join 15 academic departments and programs. The departments of philosophy and history have three new faculty members, while the departments of English, marketing, political science, and theology have two.
A number of the new faculty members have taught at higher-education institutions, including Harvard College, the University of Chicago, Xavier University, Loyola Marymount University, and the University of Oregon.
The higher education institutions at which the new faculty members have earned their doctoral degrees include Harvard University, Yale University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management, the University of Bristol (UK), the University of Notre Dame, Boston College, and Boston University.
Their areas of academic scholarship and expertise include the history of medicine, health activism, Colonial American history, medieval studies, Internet marketing, community and civic engagement, metaphysics, investments and investment policy, sacramental theology, and Caribbean and Cuban literature.
