Alumni & Family Weekend

Providence College welcomed home alumni, the families of sophomore, junior and senior students, and accepted and prospective students during its first Alumni & Family Weekend, held from February 10-12.

Highlights included a keynote address by Mike Leonard ’70 & ’00Hon., a correspondent for NBC’s Today show and the producer of the Catholicism documentary series; the painting of a community mural as part of the College’s SPORT:ART celebration, and a reception commemorating the 40th anniversary of women’s athletic programs.
 
Basketball and ice hockey games, an Irish night, and a performance by comedian Dave Coulier were also featured.

Comedian Dave Coulier, best known as Uncle Joey on TV's Student photographers Jessica Ho '14 (Bayside, N.Y.), Shannon Pustis '13 (Shrewsbury, Mass.), Dominic Channon '13 (Nelson, New Zealand), Michael Dineen '13 (Old Greenwich, Conn.) pose with Dr. Eric Sung, an assistant professor of art. Mike Leonard '70, an NBC Today Show correspondent, delivered the opening address at Alumni & Family Weekend. Alumni, family and students use their fingers to dab paint on a mural based on a student photo of PC student-athletes. Alumni and students attended the event honoring the 40th anniversary of women's athletics at PC. PC Irish Dancers perform at Irish Night at the Celtic Lounge in downtown Providence. Students decorated buses to show their school spirit at Friar Fest, a pre-game rally that featured face-painting and balloon animals for younger visitors.
