​Father Smith Fellows 2014

Eleven Providence College students awarded Father Philip A. Smith, O.P. Fellowships for Study and Service Abroad enjoyed an all-expenses-paid summer of study and service in South America, Europe, South Africa, Australia, and the Philippines.

The students — three rising juniors and eight rising seniors — are funded through the generosity of present and past members of the Board of Trustees, among other contributors, and are administered by the Office of Mission and Ministry.

For the first time in the six-year history of the program, Father Smith Fellows will journey to Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, and Dublin, and for the first time in five years, to the Philippines. There have been 43 Smith Fellows over six summers, with 11 being the most ever in a single year.
