Some have led the Providence College National Alumni Association (NAA), regional alumni clubs, and College councils and committees. Others have served as admission ambassadors and Annual Fund chairs, promoted PC’s Catholic and Dominican traditions, and stabilized the lives of students in financial need through generosity.

Still others have given time and treasure to brighten the lives of needy children or excelled as leaders in their chosen careers.

The NAA celebrated the contributions and achievements of 13 alumni at awards presentations during Reunion Weekend 2016 on June 3-5 for graduates in class years ending in 1 and 6. Six graduates were presented Faithful Friar Awards, three others received Personal Achievement Awards, and four alumni were honored with individual awards.

Chosen to receive Faithful Friar Awards were John P. Carty ’61, William J. Christie ’61 & ’11Hon., Jack Flynn ’61, Maryanne Doherty Knott ’76 & ’11P, and Maura ’86 and Michael ’86 Chapey. Personal Achievement Awards were given to Jim Mulcahy ’66, ’93P, & ’96P, Robert J. Palmisano ’66 & ’89P, and Patrick J. Canning ’81.
