Concert Chorale


The Concert Chorale is a non-audition large mixed ensemble open to all students interested in singing at Providence College. this group reflects the diverse interests and talents represented here on campus. The repertoire for this ensemble provides an excellent opportunity to study and perform the widest possible range of a capella and accompanied choral music. In addition, each year the choir will combine with other PC Choirs to perform a major work. Past works have included: Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, and Orff's Carmina Burana.

Rehearsals: Monday 5:45pm - 7:00pm and Wednesday 5:00pm to 6:15pm

I Cantori


I Cantori is the premier choral ensemble of Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island.The singers in I Cantori are full-time, undergraduate music and non-music major students committed to innovative and quality performances and community outreach through choral music. Repertoire of the choir includes both a capella and accompanied music from Western and Non-Western vocal traditions. I Cantori tours annually throughout the United States or abroad. Past international tours have included Austria, Prague, France, England, Russia and Italy.

Rehearsals: Monday 7:15pm - 8:30pm and Wednesday 6:30 pm - 7:45 pm

Fall Choral Concert 
They're Alive - Music of Living Composers
Saturday, November 21 ~ 4:00 pm

This concert will spotlight music of living composers, including Arvo Pärt, Alice Parker, and several composers who will be in attendance at the performance: Kenneth Fuchs, Peter Bagley, Gregory W. Brown, and PC's very own Michael Kregler! Choral favorites will also be featured, including Josquin, Morley, and Haydn's Missa brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo. Spirituals, hymns, motets, and a mass setting, spanning the 16th century through the 21st. You can hear it all, and meet the composers:

Opera/Musical Theatre Workshop


Opera Workshop will introduce students to the complete process of preparation for the performance of musical drama. Through work on scenes from serious and light operas, students will gain experience in musical preparation, development of dramatic characterization, stage movement and blocking, ensemble, and performance. Scenes will be presented in a final public performance at the end of the term.
