Balfour Office for Multicultural Activities
The Balfour Office for Multicultural Activities is a newly designed unit within the Student Affairs Division with the express purpose of engaging the campus through multicultural events, activities, initiatives and opportunities. Grounded in a philosophy of intentional interaction, the Balfour Office upholds that every student-because of race, creed, color and personal experience-has a substantial contribution to make to the ever-dynamic multicultural conversation. Hence, our focus is intercultural in that we provide a place wherein members of the college community, representing a variety of backgrounds, can participate in meaningful engagement. All programming is designed to increase human understanding through the study and expression of identity and culture.
In meeting these ends, the Balfour Office actively networks with the surrounding Providence community and local colleges and universities in addition to relying heavily on student experiential feedback in manifesting its mission to create transformative learning experiences. All students are encouraged to seek our office as a meaningful resource for enhancing awareness on campus, as well as to get involved through participating in the various opportunities hosted throughout the academic year.
A list of on-going and one-time events is below. For an event description, please click on the "More Info" link for each event. Events with an "*" are events that are taking place in the local community and not on the PC campus. The RIPTA busses are free for all PC students and can providence transportation to most events; a bus schedule is available here.
