Spring 1985 Report drawn up by Business Administration Department committee proposes that "The Department of Administration be divided into 4 separate and autonomous departments of …Marketing, each with the responsibilities and privileges of any other department on campus….[and] Each department offer a bachelor of science degree to their majors."
July 24, 1985 Department of Business Administration notifies the academic community that administrative responsibilities have been divided into 4 disciplines, each with an Associate Chair responsible for the functions performed by a chairperson [one Associate Chair designated official chair for legal rank and tenure functions]

Finance and Marketing Divisions of Department of Business Administration petition for 3 separate departments "to replace the current structure, thus making what is now de facto, de jure." [Accounting Division granted departmental status as Department of Accountancy on 1991-1-10)
April 22, 1992 Faculty Senate approves Resolution "Restructuring of the Department of Business…The Marketing Division of the Department of Business be granted full departmental status with all the rights and privileges of departments at Providence College" [also Management and Finance Divisons] and Resolution that abolishes Department of Business

PC President approves 4 Apr.22, 1992, Faculty Senate Resolutions "Restructuring of the Department of Business…The Marketing [also Management and Finance] Division of the Department of Business be granted full departmental status with all the rights and privileges of departments at Providence" and abolishing the Department of Business

Providence College establishes a School of Business and appoints the founding Dean, Dr. Sue Lehrman.
