Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
Held at the Campus Ministry Center within St. Dominic Chapel, the RCIA is the process by which interested persons gradually become members of the Catholic Church. It originated in the earliest traditions of the Church for welcoming new members into the Catholic community.
The RCIA is primarily a journey of faith.
There are many valid reasons why some baptized Catholics have never received the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Confirmation. Whatever your reason, now may be the time for you to fill this void in your faith life.
Perhaps your own search into the Catholic Faith, the example of family members or the influence of friends has awakened a desire in you to examine the beliefs and teachings of the Catholic Church.
RCIA provides you an opportunity to grow in your faith and in your knowledge of the Catholic tradition. Weekly meetings for prayer, reflection on the Word of God, study and discussion with your peers, and worship with the Providence College faith community, all work together to help you find your spiritual home.
Come, journey with us.
You’re invited:
- If you, as a Catholic, did not yet receive the Sacraments of First Communion or Confirmation
- If you were baptized in a Christian faith but would like to be received into the Catholic faith
- If you do not identify with any particular faith but are searching, or if you desire to become a Catholic.
Weekly classes begin in October.
