Dr. Light received an M.B.A. from the University of Illinois, an M.A. in Mathematics and a Ph.D. in Business Economics from the University of Michigan; he also did an advanced study in applied mathematics at Brown University, where he gained a Ph.D. Candidacy in Dynamical Systems in 1992. He has taught courses on Business Economics, Managerial Finance, Statistics, and Operations Research.

Previous to his tenure at Providence College, Dr. Light taught at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Dr. Light has published articles on Dynamical Systems in the area of space-time geometry; he expresses a deep interest in mathematical modeling for business, economics, and dynamical phenomena in general.
