Providence College Names New Vice President for Student Affairs
Providence, R.I. – Kristine C. Goodwin has been hired to the position of vice president for student affairs (VPSA) at Providence College.
As VPSA, Goodwin will serve as the chief student affairs officer and a member of my Cabinet. She will be responsible for enhancing and implementing the College’s Strategic Plan for the division, which is comprised of approximately 85 employees. Goodwin also will serve as an ex-officio member of the Student Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees.
Goodwin will be responsible for the overall management and operation of our student population, maintaining oversight of Residence Life, Off-Campus Housing, Judicial Affairs, Safety and Security, Student Health, Personal Counseling, Career Services, Club Sports, and Student Activities.
Prior to coming to PC, Goodwin has served as associate dean of students/student life at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. Before that, she served for eight years in several administrative positions relating to student life at Connecticut College, rising from director of residential life and housing to associate dean of student life.
Goodwin received a bachelor’s degree in political science from Westfield State College and a master’s degree in educational administration from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.
