Crèche Exhibit on Display at Providence College
Providence, R.I.--The Center for Catholic and Dominican Studies (CCDS) at Providence College is hosting an exhibit displaying a collection of crèches from around the world that is open to the public during the Advent season. The exhibit contains many sets that were collected from a range of countries, such as Italy, Canada, Portugal, Mexico, and France.
Dr. David Cabral, a professor of theatre arts in the College’s Theater, Dance, and Film department, created the exhibit using his crèche collections. Cabral’s collections are a combination of different kinds of media (paper maché, plastic, stone, ceramic, and paper), which total more than twenty crèches.
The exhibit is located in the CCDS on campus and will be on display weekdays from November 26th - January 11th, 2013. CCDS hours are 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.-Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.-Fridays.
Groups are welcome to view the exhibit but are asked to call the CCDS in advance at 401-865-2870.
