Training Workshops are offered to the Providence College community on various Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook. All workshops are hands-on and instructor driven. Current schedules are sent out to the campus via email, as well as updated on this site. Workshops can be designed and customized for departments based upon the needs of the staff.

Office Suite 2013 New Features
Take a look at the new features available in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook with the 2013 version. The 2013 version has a similar functional layout but this version offers more features. For example, Word will convert your PDF file to a document so you can easily update. Excel has a flash fill option which will automatically fill in values after you enter a few examples. PowerPoint has a presenter view which allows you to see the current slide, next slide, notes and pointer options while your audience sees only the current slide.

25LIVE for Requestors

This workshop is for those on campus who need to request non-academic space using 25live. This session will cover how to login, create an event, add details for your event and select locations. Learn how to search for events that you have requested. We will take a look at how to find space availability and see what events are taking place across campus.

Excel I: Shortcuts and Functions

Learn new shortcuts for moving and inserting data. Use auto fill to quickly enter a series of numbers and dates. Freeze your column & row headings to make data entry easier. Learn ways to manipulate data including filtering and sorting. Use print options to include headers and footers.

Excel II: PivotTables and Formulas
Use PivotTables & Charts to summarize large amounts of data. Work with formulas to manipulate data and calculate numbers. Use formulas to perform many different functions including adding logic (if, then, else), looking up matching values in a table to get corresponding text and combining cells.

OneNote is a digital notebook which can be used on any Windows machine to help keep you organized. OneNote can work in conjunction with other Office programs or be used as a separate notebook. You can create multiple notebooks with sections and pages then upload documents, images, spreadsheet and links to store in your notebook. OneNote can be used for collaboration projects and research.

Outlook Task Management

Need a way to keep track of all your tasks and emails that need your attention? Need help keeping track of all the tasks you need to get done? This workshop shows you how to manage all your tasks and emails using the task feature in Outlook. Configure Outlook to track all your work but only show you the current list that you need to work on. Use the task option to track projects and multi-step tasks.
