Policy Information

Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

Providence College has established an Acceptable Use Policy that provides guidelines and rules for the use and misuse of all campus technology resources. This policy is enforced and should be read in full and adhered to when utilizing campus technology resources. This policy is subject to change and should be reviewed often.

Wireless Network Access Policy (WNAP)

Providence College supports wireless network access on campus currently at three (3) locations. Philips Memorial Library, McPhail's and Raymond Cafeteria. Wireless network access is not supported anywhere else on campus at this time. Any and all unsupported wireless network access equipment found connected to the Providence College network infrastructure is subject to the terms of the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP).

Gramm Leach-Bliley Act (GLB-A)

In order for Providence College to comply with Federal Law, in particular, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, it is necessary for the college to have an Information Security Program in place. The program is implemented in order to protect certain types of confidential information. As part of the security program, all college employees, work study students and graduate assistants who have access to the Banner Student System or files that contain confidential information must participate in a GLB-A Information Session. The GLB-A committee has created an on-line training center for GLB-A training. Please visit the GLB-A training site for more information. *Please note, the GLB-A training site is available on-campus only.
