Adrian Beaulieu is the first-appointed dean of international studies at Providence College, overseeing both study abroad and international students/scholars. Prior to that, he held study abroad director positions at Smith College and the George Washington University. Over the last 25 years, he has served on many program advisory boards and has presented at many national and regional conferences, especially on study abroad issues particular to private liberal arts colleges. He is a member of the Forum on Education Abroad, its working group on the Code of Ethics, as well as a certified reviewer for the Forum’s Quality Improvement Program (QUIP) evaluation process. He has an Ed.S. degree in higher education administration from the George Washington University and a S.T.L degree in theology and Christian ritual from the Jesuit School of Theology of Santa Clara University (in Berkeley, CA). He is most proud in being a charter member of Red Sox Nation.

Grace has expertise in a variety of areas of international education, including study abroad advising and program development, international student services, administering summer language programs for k-12 students, developing overseas continuing education seminars for professionals, and coordinating international conferences. She is a TEFL-certified instructor of English as a Second Language and has taught cultural anthropology courses at the university level. Grace has traveled throughout Europe, South America, Oceania, North Africa, and the Middle East. As a political science and anthropology major at Loyola University Chicago, she studied abroad in Rome, Italy and Alcalá de Henares, Spain. While earning her master’s degree at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, she received funding from the National Science Foundation to spend a semester conducting research in Córdoba, Spain. She currently serves as the Rhode Island State Representative for NAFSA: Association of International Educators. She is an avid reader and enjoys watching telenovelas and doing the New York Times crossword puzzle.

Denise advises all students in the School of Arts and Sciences and in the School of Professional Studies on semester study abroad opportunities, and is the designated advisor for all short-term study abroad. With daughters who studied abroad in Australia and Ireland, Denise experienced first-hand what the entire study abroad process entails for students, to say nothing of the parental anxiety such an experience often generates. Prior to her role as a Study Abroad Advisor, Denise spent six years working in the PC Off-Campus Housing Office, followed by seven years as the Administrative Coordinator in the Center for International Studies. As a result, Denise is well qualified to assist Providence College students with their study abroad plans.

Anna is the front-line resource of the Center for International Studies. Prior to her position in the CIS, Anna spent five years working in the PC Office of Enrollment Services. In her former role as a Degree Audit Specialist, Anna worked closely with the CIS, assisting study abroad students and members of the faculty with the course articulation process. As a parent of a current college student and a future college student, Anna brings her understanding of the concerns and occasional apprehension felt by both parents and students alike.

Brittany is a senior Management major at Providence College. She studied abroad Fall 2015 in Rome, Italy with the PC in Rome Program. As a result of her time abroad she has gained a greater appreciation for the multiple different cultures that she encountered and developed a broadened global perspective. While abroad she formed many connections that she will forever treasure including meeting her extended Italian relatives. Brittany hopes to assist future study abroad students with selecting similar amazing abroad opportunities.

Hannah Sorila is a senior Global Studies major. She spent the fall 2015 semester on IHP Health and Community in India, South Africa, and Brazil and the spring 2016 semester on SIT Global Health and Development Policy in Switzerland with an educational excursion to Morocco. These experiences allowed Hannah to learn about many different health systems and also to research mental health through a global perspective. This allowed Hannah to bring many of her passions together and also to experience different forms of community in many new settings. She is excited to share her experiences with prospective study abroad students.
