Information on how to connect to the wireless networks on campus using a variety of devices can be found here. Please use the links below to help find the correct network for your needs. Most devices will be connecting via PC-Secure. If you have a device, such as a game console or TV set top box (like an Apple TV), that does not support enterprise wireless networks, you can connect that device to PC-Devices.
Use these guides and follow the instructions to connect to PC-Secure (note: If you are a student, it is the same username and password you use to log into computers on campus or for Sakai. If you are a member of the faculty or staff, it is the same username and password you use to log into computers on campus, for Sakai, or for your email.)
PC-Devices is a network for devices that do not support WPA Enterprise wireless networks, such as game consoles and set top boxes (Apple TV, Roku, etc.). This network is limited to internet access only. It cannot access any internal campus resources other than those that can be accessed off campus (such as email, Sakai, CyberFriar, and the college website).
If you wish for your device to have more access than this, which is not generally necessary to receive the full user experience from these devices, you should connect it via ethernet.
How to connect to PC-Devices
Conferences, events, and planned official visits by an individual that will last longer than 24 hours should email the Helpdesk at
firstname.lastname@example.org at least 48 hours prior to arrival to have a temporary guest account created for wireless access via PC-Guest. Please provide the name of the event, the staff/faculty sponsor of the event, and the start and end dates for when the guests will need wireless access.
Individual guests can use the PC-Guest wireless network. Guest access via this network requires that you be sponsored by a user on campus, such as the professor who invited you to guest lecture during their class or the friend you're visiting on campus. Guest access via this method expires 24 hours from confirmation.
Sponsors will receive an email with a link to confirm or reject the requested access. You can follow that link and log in with your Providence College network username and password.
Eduroam is a wireless network service that allows faculty, staff, and students from Eduroam member institutions to gain network access at other institutions that use Eduroam.
