Network Account and Network Storage
If you are a graduating senior, your network account will remain active until the September following your graduation.
If you are transferring out of Providence College or leaving the college in any other way, your account will remain active only until the IT department has been notified of your departure. It should be assumed that your last day as a student at the college is the last day your account will remain active.
You should back up any information you may have saved to your network drive (or G: drive). You can access your drive from the computers in our computer labs or the library. You can then save your files to a CD-R, a USB flash drive, or to your SkyDrive or other online storage solution (such as Box or Dropbox). We strongly recommend against emailing files to yourself as a means of backup.
Because your network account is also used to access Sakai, you will lose access to that when your account is deactivated.
If you purchased Microsoft Office or Windows or downloaded McAfee VirusScan, you can continue to use those pieces of software indefinitely.
If you have installed McAfee VirusScan and wish to use a different piece of anti-virus software, you should first uninstall McAfee as it will conflict with other anti-virus software and cause your computer to run more slowly.
