Spring 2007
This spring, the HPM program welcomed some familiar faces back to campus. Rich Zabbo '00, an attorney with Ratcliffe, Burke, Harten, and Elias, LLP in Providence, returned as a special lecturer for the program's required health law course. Fernanda da Costa '98, Chief of the Office of Managed Care Regulation for the RI Department of Health, taught a special topics course entitled "Regulating Managed Care." Finally, Fay Rozovsky, a PC graduate and last year's keynote speaker at the inaugural Health Policy Forum, taught a special topics course on risk management.
The program received good news on the hiring front as well. We are thrilled to welcome Thomas R. Miller, a PhD candidate at the University of Iowa, as our third tenure-track faculty member. In the fall of 2007, his teaching load will include the program's newest course, Principle of Healthcare Management, Financial Management of Health Care Institutions, and a special topics course.
In a related development, academic administration approved the program's request to hire a fourth tenure-track faculty member. A new national search will begin for this position in September 2007.
