Lynch ’13, Moloy ’13 Solidify Deep Friar Roots as Roommates
Though not pressured to join the “family ranks” and enroll at Providence College as freshmen, Danica M. Lynch ’13 (Westerly, R.I.) and Julie A. Moloy ’13 (Westwood, Mass.) immediately discovered their “home” at PC — and an abiding friendship with it.
Randomly assigned as roommates their first year, Lynch and Moloy developed many of the same interests. They held work-study positions in the Office of Institutional Advancement, joined the Student Alumni Association, and served on the Fund-Raising Committee of the Senior Giving Campaign.

Annie Wendel ’13 Awarded Fulbright Teaching Assistantship to Nepal
Come to Providence College and see the world — that’s what Annie Wendel ’13 did.
Wendel (Ridgefield, Conn.) spent eight weeks during the summer of 2011 working in social justice ministries in Australia and teaching at a boarding school in the Solomon Islands. During the spring semester in 2012, she studied in South Africa while teaching seventh-graders and visiting Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Joseph Slattery ’13 Honored for Academic Success, Work with Habitat for Humanity
A lab coat and a hammer. Both could be symbols for the four years Joseph Slattery ’13 (Mount Airy, Md.) spent at Providence College.
Slattery, who will attend the University of Maryland School of Medicine in the fall, will graduate magna cum laude with a degree in biology. At PC, he was chosen to receive the Stephen J. Ryan, M.D. ’30 Distinguished Student Award, given to a senior accepted to medical school who possesses “the characteristics of integrity, compassion, and personality that would make the ideal physician."

Nathan Holterman ’13 (Peoria, Ill.) remembers the first time he saw Providence College.
He was a senior at Fenwick High School, the Dominican high school in Oak Park, Ill. It was April 25, 2009, six days before the deadline for selecting a college for the fall, and he still hadn’t made his choice. He arrived in Providence to cold rain, gray skies, and 40-degree weather, not expecting much.
