Winter Weather Announcement:
Despite the impending snow reported for this weekend, all events are still happening.  We are working hard to make sure the campus is safe for the arrival of our PC Alumni and Families. 
Please make use of the Shuttle Transportation being offered.  There will also be transportation assisting guests on campus.  The Registration tables will open on Saturday Morning in the Peterson Recreation Center at 8:30am and remain open until Noon.

Class Sit-In
Experience a day in the life of a PC student by attending a class. When you register for this program, a list of available classes will be sent to you.

 

 

SPORT:ART Opening Reception with Interactive Mural
6:00 to 9:00 PM, Smith Center for the Arts
Experience SPORT:ART among fellow art enthusiasts and sports fans. Peter Tigler, a mural artist based in Santa Monica, California, will provide a mural for guests to "paint" in a collaborative endeavor to connect to the theme of art and sports.

Home is Where the Heart Is - PC Welcome and Drop-In
6:00 to 9:00 PM, Lower Level, Slavin Center
Providence College welcomes alumni and families to visit our student union upon arrival to enjoy a fun, laid-back, living room atmosphere. There will be student bands, Wii competitions, snacks, giveaways, and more to set a festive tone. Registration and ticket pickup for Friday activities will be located at this event.

 

 

Men's Ice Hockey vs. University of Maine
7:00 PM, Schneider Arena
Is Maine a serious contender in HOCKEY EAST? Find out when our Friars face off against the Black Bears! Stop in the Leary Friends of Friar Hockey Room for complimentary snacks and to mingle with fellow Friars! Tickets for the game can be purchased separately at www.friars.com. Click on Ticket Center and then Promotions. Enter in the code PCPARENTS12 or PCALUMNI12 for priority seating.

 

 

Headliner Comedy Show featuring DAVE COULIER
9:00 PM (Doors Open at 8:00 PM) Peterson Recreation Center
$10 per person, $5 for students
Dave Coulier has been a frequent presence in our homes for eight seasons on the long-running hit ABC television series Full House, which now is part of the popular Nick-At-Nite and ABC Family network lineups. Known for his clean and fun comedy routine, Dave will surely have alumni, parents, and students laughing the night away. Let's all welcome Dave into our PC home and family.

Assistant Professor of Photography, Eric Sung's photography class in collaboration with the Athletic Department.

 

 

Out at Home: The Negro Baseball League, Reilly Art Gallery, Smith Center for the Arts, East Campus
Out at Home interrogates the banning of black athletes in the mainstream quintessential American sport, baseball and the resulting formation of a black baseball league, until Jackie Robinson broke the color line.

Pick up your pre-ordered tickets for the weekend's events and enjoy coffee, juices, fruits, and pastries in preparation for the College President's opening remarks. Registration will continue from noon to 3:00 p.m. adjacent to the Slavin Center Information Desk.

Catholicism: A Journey to the Heart of Faith
Mike Leonard '70, NBC feature correspondent and executive producer of CATHOLICISM, a 10-part, global documentary illustrating the story of the Catholic faith, will join Rev. Robert Barron, known by many as the "podcasting priest" to share the story of their recent journey together. Father Barron is one of the world's most innovative teachers of Catholicism. His global media ministry, Word On Fire, has a simple mission to evangelize the culture.

Friars Abroad - International Studies Showcase and Alumni Reunion

Featuring a Presentation by Adrian Beaulieu, Dean of International Studies
Come and enjoy the tastes of the world and have an interactive discussion regarding the exciting plans for students who wish to study abroad. Students and alumni who have participated in the program will share their experiences. Alumni who studied abroad as a student will have the chance to see how the program has evolved over the years and can reconnect with fellow alumni travelers!

Sophomore Family Reception

Parents of sophomore students are invited to join us for an informal reception co-hosted by the PC Parents Program and Parents for Providence Association. Enjoy remarks from the sophomore class dean, Jacqueline Kiernan MacKay, who will provide key tips on the ways you can support your student during this critical year of decision making.

 

 

FRIAR FEST
1:30 to 3:00 PM, In the Front of Concannon Fitness Center
Join us for this pre-game rally to get psyched for the men's basketball game vs. USF! Hot chocolate and treats, face painting, and more surprises will be offered. PC student clubs also will be competing against each other for the best "I HEART PC" decorated bus!  Alumni and families can park on campus and ride the buses to the game. Bus pickup begins at 3:00 p.m. behind Raymond Dining Hall. GO FRIARS!

An Hour with PC's Chaplain: Making Faith Your Own

Come join us for an hour of discussion and reflection with College Chaplain Rev. James Cuddy, O.P. '98. He will offer his unique perspective on how the College helps students make faith their own here at PC and beyond.
