The Classics courses allow you to fully immerse yourself in some of the most important texts in the development of Western Civilization. Whether its Cicero, Seneca, or Scripture, reading them in their original language helps you come to greater understanding and appreciation of the texts.

As for the Classics minor is a perfect compliment to many different majors. For history majors, it allows the student to gain deeper insight into the lives and values of Greco-Roman men and women.

English majors can get a better handle on what the authors are doing, stylistically, by reading them in their original language, while theology majors can delve into the words of St. Paul or read the beauty of the Latin Vulgate.
