| The
Pre-Graduate School Advising program was initiated to help science
majors at PC prepare for and apply to graduate programs. The
requirements for admission to graduate programs and the preparation
needed to become a strong candidate differ from the application process
for schools in the health professions. Thus, this program was
created to complement the existing Pre-Medical Sciences Preparation
Program and service the needs of students interested in pursuing a
degree centered on research.
All
of the students from PC accepted to graduate schools have had excellent
academic records. Another feature of their applications was experience
in a research lab. Therefore, it is vital for a student interested
in graduate school to work on a research project either at PC or at an
outside university or company. Letters of recommendation are also
extremely important so take the initiative and develop strong
relationships with the science faculty and your employers during your
internships or jobs.
