Charitable giving opportunity under the Katrina relief act
You may be able to donate a major gift to Providence College and gain a personal benefit for your charity through the Katrina Emergency Tax Relief Act. The act encourages gifts to educational institutions and other organizations and suspends percentage limitations for qualified cash contributions during the remainder of 2005—whether or not the contributions are related to Hurricane Katrina. Because of the temporary change in the law, donors may, in some cases, deduct cash gifts up to 100% of their adjusted gross income—double what is normally permitted. For more information, click here.
