The calendar includes lectures in honor of St. Joseph and St. Catherine of Siena and a three-part Lenten meditation series. The center, directed by Rev. Thomas D. It's time to update the Alumni Directory!
The College once again is collaborating with Harris Connect, Inc. to produce a printed 2006 edition of the Providence College Alumni Directory. Later this month, Harris Connect representatives will begin making phone calls to alumni to confirm or update directory data. If you would like to get a jump start and either provide or update data, or place an order for the new directory, you can contact Harris at (800) 366-9892 or at customerservice@harrisconnect.com.
Gift cards benefit both loved ones and the College
Memorial and tribute (birthday, anniversary, etc.) gift card sets, available from the Office of Institutional Advancement, let you express your sentiments while benefiting the College's General Scholarship Fund. The cards come in sets of two. One is sent to the recipient, informing them that a donation has been made to PC in their or a loved one's name. The second card is sent to the College with your donation. To obtain card sets or to learn more, contact Carol Dorsey at (401) 865-2536 or at cdorsey@providence.edu.
Cullen blazes to best U.S. times in two events
Mary Cullen '06 of the Friars' women's indoor track team has recorded the fastest times by a U.S. collegiate woman in the 3,000- and 5,000-meter runs this season. She has been clocked in 9:02.13 and 15:39.43, respectively. Cullen, who lives in Sligo, Ireland, is a four-time All-American in cross country and track. She will be aiming to add to her All-America laurels, as well as pursue a national title, at the NCAA Women's Indoor Track Championship in March in Arkansas.
Women's basketball team turns fortunes around
After winning just five games over the course of the past two seasons, the Friars' women's basketball team is definitely in a rebounding mode this season. Through its first 20 games, PC won six games and at one point went on a five-game winning streak. Included in the victories was a 58-57 decision over the University of Cincinnati for the Friars' first BIG EAST Conference win in nearly three years.

Did you know?
• The College has begun preparations for an accreditation review visit by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) in October 2007. A Self-Study Steering Committee, co-chaired by Dr. Brian J. Bartolini, associate vice president for academic administration, and Dr. Sheila M. Adamus, associate professor of chemistry and chair of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, is guiding the College through the preparatory process. • With the establishment of a vice president’s position and new division for mission and ministry last July, the College is now organized administratively into eight divisions. The others are: academic administration, athletics, college relations and planning, finance and business, general counsel, institutional advancement, and student services.
