Spotlight Providence

Congratulations on your acceptance to the Providence College Class of 2019! As the newest members of the Providence College community, we invite you to join us for a congratulatory celebration before our men's basketball team takes on Seton Hall University at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in downtown Providence. Meet current students and other members of the PC community prior to experiencing the excitement of a Big East Friar Basketball game!
 
Complimentary tickets (limit 3 per family) are available to the first 400 families who respond and can be picked up at the reception. Additional tickets are available for $10 each, payable on the day of the event by cash or check. All additional ticket orders must be placed by Friday, February 6 as no extras will be available at the game.

The game will start at 4:00 PM next door at "The Dunk."
 
Prior to the pep rally and basketball game, families are invited to visit campus to experience academic life at Providence College. Beginning at 10:30 AM, campus tours (including residence halls) will be offered, as well as mock classes and academic presentations. This portion is optional and details are below.

  • Campus tours depart from the Harkins Hall Rotunda between 10:30 AM and 12:30 PM. Separate tours of residence halls will also be available.
  • Academic Q & A: Do you have academic questions or want to learn more about a topic that you don't think will be covered by a session listed above? Join representatives from the Provost's Office, various schools of the college, the Office of Academic Services, and the Undergraduate Dean's Office in the Ruane Center for the Humanities Great Room between 11:15 AM and 12:45 PM for an informal opportunity to have your questions answered by the academic leadership of the College.
  • Pop Up Figure Drawing: Stop by our pop up art studio in the Ruane Center Connector between 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM to learn more about the fine arts at Providence and try your hand at figure drawing in a session led by Heather McPherson, assistant professor of painting.
  • The Providence College Bookstore will be open between 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM in the lower level of Slavin Center.

 

 

Accommodations
