PwC Summer Leadership Event 3 This week was the third event of this summer's Leadership Program at PwC. The event was a Murder Mystery Dinner held at the Mutter Museum in Philadelphia. A reception began the evening where we all took a brief tour of the museum and caught up on summer events. We were then seated in groups of six or seven at tables in a reception hall for the dinner. Joining us on each one of our teams was a PwC employee. The background of the "murder" that each team was to solve was that two murders had been committed in a theatre, and there were seven possible suspects that we would need to question. A "crime scene" with evidence scattered was placed in the middle of the hall, which we were free to examine. We left an empty seat at each table, and the suspects rotated among the tables answering our questions. All of the roles were played by PwC employees, quite well in most cases. After our team questioned all seven suspects for approximately five to seven minutes each, we had five minutes to converse and come to a conclusion. Amazingly, all of the teams came to the same conclusion, which turned out to be the correct one in the end. The Murder Mystery dinner was a new experience for me, as it was a new activity that enhanced team building skills. As a team, we needed to come to a conclusion, and we listened to each of our opinions before weighing the merits of each to arrive at an answer. Also, the evening gave us another chance to interact with members of the firm that we hadn't met before. Next Entry, "Conclusion" |
