Wake Up!
June 4, 2002

The first week here at Hasbro was a major adjustment for me.

During the school year, most of my classes didn't start until late morning or even mid-afternoon, my earliest class being 9:30 in the morning.  This led to late nights hanging out with my friends, knowing that I did not have to get up very early at all.  This continued after school was out and during the few weeks between school and my start here at Hasbro.  During my time in-between I was often up until the early morning hours and slept until the afternoon.

However, once I started at Hasbro I was forced to get up at 6:00 every morning because we start work at 7:30.  This was a major adjustment for me and it took me a week or two to adapt to getting up early.  This also forced me to give up the late nights in favor of a more reasonable bedtime.  I suppose the adjustment wasn't too bad because it allowed me to get a more restful night's sleep.

At school I was always thinking about how busy my next day was going to be or planning out how I was going to accomplish all of the projects and assignments I was given, but now that I started working, much of what I do stays at Hasbro.  By this I mean that while I certainly have many responsibilities, I'm not burdened with the feeling that I need to get it done and its not overwhelming to the point where the work is constantly on my mind, as school work tended to be sometimes.
