Jim Kinahan '03
Hasbro, Inc.

The Third Week
June 5, 2002

Now entering my 3rd week here, I have begun to settle into the position and feel more comfortable doing what is required. I am now able to find basically any resources or materials that I need without too much assistance from any of the other staff members.  The people here continue to be great and are willing to help with just about anything you ask of them.

The other intern and I have become pretty efficient with the CorpTax software that Hasbro uses.  We are using this software to complete the state returns for several of the smaller companies that Hasbro is the parent of.  These subsidiaries have to file returns in almost all of the fifty states as well as many cities within these states, so there are many returns that need to be completed.   This project has helped us become more familiar with the different aspects of the returns and how each of the numbers factors into a return.  Along with this tax compliance project I have been assigned various smaller projects that people need completed.

The people and the environment continue to remain the same, which is very beneficial.  The workload is sufficient, but not overwhelming and I feel I am learning a lot as well as applying much of what I have learned in my several accounting classes.

Questions for Jim?
