Last Week GE Panametrics was a very good learning experience for me. On Wednesday, July 24th, I had to count so much inventory. For example, I counted roughly 140 different parts and within each part are many items that need to be counted. One part I had to count had 1232 blocks within it that I had counted. The long hours, the traffic, the miles, and standing all day long made the week extremely tiring; however, the client, the managers and staff were very helpful and nice throughout the entire inventory observation. This final week I am unassigned in the office. Again, when I am unassigned there isn’t a whole lot to do rather sometimes there isn’t anything I can be doing unless some of the staff are not out at a client and need a assistance with a certain job. It is a nice break though rather than being up in Waltham, Massachusetts for another week. I am suppose to meet with my performance manager tomorrow where she will be discussing my internship exit process fully in detail. Today, I am in the office writing an entry and working on a lot of housekeeping details that need to be handled. Yesterday, I went to the annual financial services luncheon for the Providence and Boston office on George’s Island in the Boston Harbor. Some of us carpooled from the Providence office and took the ferry with some other employees to George’s. The island was nice; we were served lots of food, even lobster! We played Bocce Ball, Paddleball, Whiffleball, and two 6 on 6 volleyball games. The team I was on won one and lost one. This luncheon was again another chance to network myself to the rest of the financial services staff in Boston and in Providence. |
