Peer Tutor Application

Qualifications for being a tutor:

  • Member of the class of 2015, 2016, 2017 in good disciplinary and academic standing
  • Self-confident and competent (B+ or above) in courses you wish to tutor
  • Good organizational skills, personal time management, patience, creativity, and a desire to help others be successful
  • Generous, flexible, having a sense of humor, and being a basically happy person
  • Possess solid understanding of academic skills and college resources that make a successful college student 

Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Mandatory attendance at training sessions - August 2014
  • Appropriate professionalism as a liaison of our Office as well as of Providence College
  • Available for an average of 8 one-hour appointments each week between Sunday and Friday
  • Conduct a tutoring session so the student is involved in active learning
  • Keep the priority of a tutoring appointment once it has been made
  • Follow each session with accurate and complete record entered into Tutortrac
  • Sharing your own successful study and learning skills
  • Assisting in any administrative tasks related to the Tutoring Center
