Student-Athlete of the Month

​​​​​​​​​The Friar Student-Athlete of the Month Program honors student-athletes who have distinguished themselves academically. This award acknowledges the challenges that student-athletes face in balancing academic and athletic success, while also making positive contributions to the campus community and beyond. 

Each month one (1) male and one (1) female student-athlete will be chosen from a pool of nominees and recognized for his and her dedication to academic improvement, academic achievement, and/or commitment to the academic process. The Friar Student-Athlete of the Month Program celebrates the great gift that is education, and what it means to be a STUDENT-athlete. ​

Winners of the award have included, but are not limited to, the following reasons: 

  • Commitment to study hall
  • Commitment to tutoring
  • Academic improvement
  • Academic excellence
  • Challenging oneself in the classroom
  • Excellent summer work
