What’s your major?
What did you think of the book.
I thought the book was a great choice. Not only was the science aspect of it great and interesting, but so was analyzing the moral aspects of it..
What was it like to be working with cells that have been so important to medicine and science?
It felt good to be working with cells that had such a major impact on nearly every field of science. It made me feel as if I was part of that world.
Did you like the hands-on aspect of the course?
The hands-on part of the course was enjoyable. It was interesting that we got to extract the DNA from the cells and compare them to a karyotype.
What do you think of the idea of having a common reading that can be applied to a course?
The idea of common reading was well thought out. The book didn't just specifically apply to biology majors, and it put all incoming freshman on the same level in some way.
