College Bowl, also known as The Varsity Sport of the Mind, is a fast paced question and answer game. Questions cover many subject areas including current events, literature, history, religion, social and natural sciences, art, music, sports, and entertainment. Providence College students may be particularly suited to College Bowl competition because of our Development of Western Civilization program.
College Bowl is a wonderful exercise in the integration of a student's academic and co-curricular experiences. Teams of four square off during a timed question and answer session. During the two halves, the score is tallied which will determine the winner at the end of the game. The top four teams with the best records make the playoffs consisting of a semi-final and final round to determine the College Bowl champion.
Faculty, staff, and students who would like to volunteer are welcome to by contacting the S.A.I.L. Office at 401-865-2211 or by stopping by Slavin 104. Teams who are interested in participating should contact the S.A.I.L. Office. To learn more about College Bowl, please visit the website at http://www.collegebowl.com.

Providence College Tournament
Slavin Center
Noon - 6pm
Saturday, February 9th
Between 20 and 24 teams will compete throughout the Slavin Center for the campus championship. Tell your friends to come! Bring your family (parents LOVE this stuff!). It's a fun afternoon and you'll be surprised at just how much stuff you know! Four or five All-Star players will be selected to represent Providence College at the Regional Tournament.
Region I/II Tournament
Our All-Star team will compete with other New England schools for the College Bowl Regional Championship. This year’s Region I College Bowl Tournament will be held on February 23, 2008. Here's how we've done in the past: We have placed in the top three for three out of the last four years, entered the 2001 finals undefeated and were the regional champions for 2002. We have soundly defeated Northeastern, Middlebury, Williams, MIT, UCONN, Amherst, and Bentley to name a few! Last year we had the honor of playing in the National Tournament hosted at USC in Los Angeles!
