Amnesty International
Amnesty International (AI) is a worldwide movement of people who campaign for internationally recognized human rights. AI's vision is of a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards.

Off Campus Residence Organization (OCRO)

Residence Hall Association (RHA)
The Residence Hall Association allows students to plan social events within their residence halls. Events are planned each month to give students a chance to have fun, relax, and meet new friends. Our major events are the Blind Date Balls: semi-formal occasions that are held at an undisclosed location and attended by blind dates set up by roommates and friends.

SHEPARD
S.H.E.P.A.R.D. (Stopping Homophobia, Eliminating Prejudices And Restoring Dignity) seeks to educate the college community on  issues of sexual orientation. This organization seeks to provide a supportive environment in which students can discuss issues of sexual orientation freely and openly. This organization, in keeping with the mission, ideals and values embedded in Providence College, is dedicated to fostering a campus environment that encourages the respect for the essential dignity, freedom and equality of every person regardless of sexual orientation.  S.H.E.P.A.R.D. will assist all students to feel secure and included in the Providence College family. "The fundamental human rights of homosexual persons must be defended ...all of us must strive to eliminate any form of injustice, oppression, or violence against them."-NCCB

Step 1
S.T.E.P 1, a peer education club, strives to promote a wellness environment in the academic and social lives of Providence College students. Through various presentations, such as Assertiveness and Self Esteem, Eating Disorders, and Stress Control, peer educators encourage other students to talk openly about responsible habits and attitudes concerning alcohol and other related issues. If you are interested in taking part in these programs or becoming a peer educator, please contact our office at x1599.
