Admissions Ambassadors
Founded in 1991, the Admissions Ambassadors Program assists the Admissions Office in representing PC to prospective students. Ambassadors reach out to prospective students and parents during the admissions process by sharing their experiences and impressions of the PC Community.
Best Buddies
Best Buddies is an international organization with over 235 chapters in the US, Greece and Canada. The mission is to enhance the lives of people with mental retardation by providing opportunities for socialization and employment. PC students have weekly contact with their buddies by phone, one-to-one outings and group outings.
Campus Ministry Council
The Campus Ministry Council is dedicated to helping develop the worship, service, and faith life of every PC student. Council members act as spiritual leaders of the campus and links to our chaplains. We try to help students become more involved in masses, and help make our campus more closely reflect the love that Christ extends to us all. If you are interested in joining us, please call x2216 or stop by the Chaplain's Office in St. Dominic Chapel.
Circle K
Circle K is an international collegiate service organization supported by Kiwanis International. We do service projects on- campus, in the community and in the region. Upcoming events for the year 2001-2002 include a Stay-A-Wake-A-Thon and a Senior Prom for local nursing home residents. All interested students are welcome to join us make new friends and help others!
Council for Exceptional Children
Friars Club
In the spirit of hospitality and service, the members of the Friars Club act as representatives of Providence College at various campus events such as campus tours, sports events, Alumni and Parents' Weekends. The club plays a special role in supporting the pursuits of PC. More specifically, the Friar's Club promotes scholarship and the values of the Judeo-Christian heritage through the unique tradition of the Dominican Order.
PC Pals
Providence College Pals is a program that creates relationships between PC students and local school children between the ages of eight and twelve. Currently, there are four after-school programs participating. The program's activities include individual and group time as well as field trips.
Pastoral Service Organization
The Pastoral Service Organization is committed to community service and social outreach. Although one need not be Catholic or Christian to belong to the P.S.O., Catholic values, principles, and social teaching provide the motivation for what we do. The P.S.O. volunteers under the following committees: Adult Literacy, C.C.D., ESL, Habitat for Humanity, AIDS Outreach, St. Mary's, etc...
Urban Action
Urban Action is a group of students dedicated to improving the Providence community beyond the borders of the Providence College campus. Students help those less fortunate than themselves build houses, and in the process, build friendships. Urban Action runs a special program for incoming freshmen, as well as year round activities for all interested students.
