COMMENCEMENT WEEK HOUSING INFORMATION

If you are seeking housing during Senior Week; Tuesday, May 13th, through Monday, May 19th, please read the following important information:

1. Seniors do not have to submit a request to remain on campus during Commencement Week.

2. Resident students requesting permission to stay on campus for the following reasons (below) must download and print the Office of College Events Housing Request Form and submit it directly to the Office of College Events, Harkins Hall rm. 203:

             Friars Club, Band, Chorus, Liturgical Choir, Sacristan, ROTC Honor Guard,Student Congress Executive Board, Commencement Volunteer

3. All other resident students requesting permission to stay on campus must download the Commencement Housing Request Form and follow the directions to submit the form. You will need to print out and return the completed form to the Office of Residence Life by May 1st. DO NOT E-MAIL this form; it must contain original signatures.

4.   Please note:

             a. Housing is not available for those students wishing to attend the Commencement ceremony.

             b. Unauthorized occupancy of campus housing can result in a $200.00 fine per day.       

             c. Students who submit their request after May 1st are subject to a $25.00 late registration fee.

             d. Resident students not requesting permission to remain on campus during Senior Week are reminded that they must vacate the residence halls and apartments 24 hours after their last exam. All residents must vacate by 6 p.m. on May 13th. It is the responsibility of each resident to plan his or her own travel accordingly to comply with this policy.

Additional important items to be aware of:

DINING FACILITIES: The dining facilities will be discontinued after dinner on Tuesday, May 13th.

SECURITY AND INSPECTION: The Office of Residence Life and the Physical Plant reserve the right to enter any student room/apartment for safety and maintenance reasons. Students are reminded that Providence College does not assume liability for loss or damage to the personal property of a student whether the College is in session or not.

STUDENT HEALTH: The Student Health Center will close for the semester at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13th.  EMT’s will remain on duty until Commencement morning, Sunday, May 18th.

EMERGENCIES: The Office of Safety and Security can be reached at x2391 (non-emergency) and x2222 (emergency).

All residents are urged to contact their Resident Assistant, Hall Director, or Complex Director with any questions.
